Britney Spears has reportedly left a rehabilitation facility after completing a three-week stay, following a turbulent period that includes a recent DUI charge and renewed public scrutiny.

The 44-year-old pop star, internationally known for early 2000s pop music with hits such as “Toxic” and “Oops!… I Did It Again,” exited a Southern California treatment centre on Wednesday evening, according to media reports. Her departure comes just as she prepares for an upcoming court arraignment linked to an arrest earlier this year.

Sources close to Spears say she is in a “positive mindset” and remains focused on rebuilding stability in her life. One insider described her as “feeling great” and optimistic about the future, adding that she is continuing with counselling and taking active steps toward personal improvement.

The same source noted that Spears is currently prioritising time with her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, whom she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline, and that reconnecting with them has been an important part of her emotional recovery.

The singer entered rehab in early April, approximately five weeks after she was arrested in Ventura County, California, on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. The arrest led to formal charges being filed, placing her under renewed legal pressure while she was already navigating personal challenges.

Reports suggest that during this period she also began attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, where she has been described as open and reflective about her experiences.

According to those familiar with her situation, Spears has been cautious with her lifestyle choices, reportedly avoiding alcohol and focusing on healthier routines, including spending quiet time at home.

Her representatives previously stated that she intended to comply fully with legal obligations and pursue support systems that would help her move forward constructively.

“Britney has been very open and honest in her AA meetings, she has said she loves pouring her heart out as she knows that is the best way to heal and feel better,” a source stated.

“The only thing she has indulged in is fancy coffee drinks. She is being super careful because she wants to be there for her kids.”

Upcoming court proceedings and legal outlook

Spears is scheduled to appear for an arraignment at Ventura County Superior Court on Monday, where she will formally be informed of the DUI charge and asked to enter a plea.

An arraignment is the first stage of a criminal court process, during which a defendant is presented with charges and given the opportunity to respond with a plea of guilty, not guilty, or no contest. It remains uncertain whether Spears will attend in person or appear through legal counsel.

Legal experts note that DUI cases can vary widely in outcome depending on circumstances such as prior offences, evidence, and cooperation with the court process. In Spears’ case, attention is heightened due to her celebrity status and ongoing efforts to stabilise her personal life.

While details of her legal strategy have not been disclosed, sources suggest she is focused on compliance and recovery rather than confrontation.

As the case moves forward, Spears’ next steps in both her legal and personal journey are likely to remain under close media and public observation.
