“Special experience”, yeah like updating the app to have fewer promotions and some useless tier system that takes ages? Just spitting in the face of consumers that have been customers for years

It just shows a lack of understanding and poor business model. But who am I, a lowly buyer, to say!

“Less than $10”, really overestimating willingness to pay and opportunity cost

For most of us, coffee is survival support, not a luxury. When am I going to sit around enjoying *~☆ambiance☆~*?

These ceos really have no idea how most of us live

  3. He couldn’t care less lmao. The smart ones like us invested in a nespresso machine and I encourage everyone to do the same. Starbucks is full of unnecessary sugar and calories that noone really needs.

  4. idk what starbucks he visits but I don’t have any kind of premium experience on the rare occasion that i go to the one by me

It’s been 4 years since I stepped into a Starbucks. Once you realize how bad their coffee is , you will never go back.

The staging of that cup in front of him… I bet he drinks that coffee as much as that McDonald’s guy eat their “products”.

so they shame us for spending $9 on coffee bc that’s the whole reason young ppl can’t afford houses but now they’re saying we HAVE to have $9 coffee WHICH IS IT

  8. Make it 9 dollars instead of 10 so people could afford it

  9. Hahaha premium experience for some shitty coffee. Invest in a espresso machine people (not Nespresso) and you can then have a really good cup o Joe

My nespresso machine has been giving me that experience right from home. Has this man even had Starbucks? It’s not even luxury coffee. It’s not very good at all

It’s because a lot of rich people are buying your $9 coffee, but I can assure you that the middle and lower class are going to be dropping that “premium” experience.

  12. Every time I’ve gotten an iced coffee or latte there is tastes watered down to hell

This man’s compensation package is almost $100M. Of course $9 is practically nothing to him, and he can’t fathom why someone wouldn’t just do it.

I am a Starbucks barista (unfortunately) and it is an unbelievably frustrating company to work for. Calling Starbucks a “premium” experience is just insane, we’re literally the “fast food” of the coffee industry. Also, speaking from experience, $9 is on the low end for a Starbucks coffee these days. Most people’s orders for a single drink are anywhere from $11-$13. 🙃

What PR departments keep letting their CEOs in front of cameras? It’s a disaster every time.

    Say, “experience,” one more time.

  18. Starbucks is just a worse version of a good coffee shop. These people really are from outer space.

There’s a Starbucks in front of my building and the drive thru is ALWAYS full. Why can’t ppl make coffee at home? And literally in the same block there’s a local coffee shop with drive thru and it always has 1-2 cars. I don’t get it tbh

Starbucks is really bad coffee tho, here in Europe the only times i’ve entered those establishments was for their refresha

Just popped in to say that referencing income brackets as “in either of those cohorts” is one of the craziest corporate jargons I’ve ever heard iml.

    And I’m in corporate.

Union bashing Starbucks wants us to spend money on their burnt coffee while they can’t even spend their money to give their employees a livable wage

  23. ughdrunkatvogue on

In what world is their coffee 9 dollars I just went on ubereats and it’s like 40 cents more than mcdonald’s. Like I don’t even care about starbucks, but it’s their espresso dessert in a cup drinks that are that much – which is a completely different thing. Like you would have to be REALLY living in your own privileged bubble to complain that your “fancy” “premium” macchiatos are too much lmao. But people ACTUALLY think their coffees cost that much and I guess this isn’t helping so whatever lol.

I can’t imagine why anyone would go to a Starbucks in a larger city where there’s nice coffee shops every few blocks. It’s certainly not for the “premium experience.”
