Although she still has years left of education to complete, especially if she goes to university, many royal fans are already excited for the day she becomes a working royal. However, this is not something that could definitely happen.
While it is believed that Charlotte will one day take on full-time royal duty, one royal expert has said that in this “new era” of the Royal Family, it is not something Charlotte’s parents Prince William and Princess Catherine will make her do if she doesn’t want to.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told the Mirror: “I suspect that a life of full-time royal duty does eventually await the young princess – given the dwindling number of working Royals.
“But I don’t think it’s something that her parents will insist on if, in the end, it’s really something she doesn’t want to do.
“This is a new era and one which, I think, will afford some of the young royals, a little more choice. That I think, is only fair.”
Before this, the young princess stepped out on Christmas Day in Sandringham, where she spent time shaking hands with members of the public, giving hugs and even taking selfies.
Jennie told The Mirror: “Like her mother, she seems effortlessly elegant.”
It is not known how the princess is marking her 11th birthday today.
