You made $1 billion off of touting those messages ….. I could go on and on, but he made a song literally called. “The streets is watching” … now all he wants to talk about how rich he is.

Maybe I’m in the minority here but I just don’t care about an artists personal life.
I’ve been a huge Jay-Z fan since high school and listened to all his records.
I’ve never once looked up an interview, book, or biography on him.
When a new album comes out I listen. If it’s good I add it to the library, if it sucks I don’t listen to it.
I learned about the cheating allegations a couple years ago but I don’t need an artist to be a role model. Just make good music.
Obviously I draw the line on people like Chris Brown or Kanye.

I don’t see the issue here. It’s a good message.
Fascinating the difference when a young artist (often white) says something racist and tries to change and learn and everyone gives them grace.
But a black man talking about street culture and how it’s toxic, which it is, and he disagrees with it now decades later is bad because he’s a billionaire or you just don’t like him? I like the message and it should be spread more especially to the younger generation.
