His stylist really fucking hated him
His whole vibe is extremely suspicious to me. The imagery of his latest album release certainly don’t help his case. I feel so badly for any black fans of kpop, it’s like that entertainment industry is actively trying to push them away. I can’t imagine what they feel like seeing news like this.
Weird that it’s always him with this type of controversy
He’s getting flack, but what about the designer and the company that made it? I mean, MULTIPLE people all along the design/production process apparently thought it was totally ok to put that crap on a shirt.

yeah, there are many “coincidences” with this guy. once is a coincidence, but if it keeps happening, it’s up to him to vet his clothing better. he’s very involved with his style choices.
Interesting that the apology didn’t include G-Dragon’s name, just referred to him as “the artist”, like they didn’t want his name associated with the shirt nor the apology

Typical. K-pop idols wear something questionable = the stylist did them dirty. K-pop idols wear something cool = they have such great taste. FFS. It’s 2026, time to start holding these people accountable and stop passing buck to the stylist.

I was surprised how much newer kpop stans jumped on the big bang bandwagon with Coachella. They’re up there in top tier problematic groups with Suju (and BTS but thats a convo people dont want to have lol). Nothing new from him.

G-Dragon has been an idol for a long time, since ’94. He knows exactly what he’s doing, he’s not new to controversy. He’s a repeat offender, like times 10. He’s not naive nor is he unaware of the racial connotations of wearing that shirt. He just doesn’t care because he knows his kpop stans don’t care either. He’s been doing stuff like this for YEARS and hasn’t faced any consequences so he’ll keep doing it.

Mind you both him, his fans, and the kpop community as a whole, gasses him up as this “kpop fashion king” who curates his own fashion looks, basically making his “fashion forward-ness” a major part of his artistic and personal identity, so it’s very funny and ironic that he didn’t give the apology himself but his agency did and did so without actually naming him.
Not only does it curb him from taking accountability and responsibility but it puts him a light of “oh it’s not his fault, the company is to blame” which could diminish G-Dragons so called “influence” on kpop fashion. Meaning, it was never him that was influential, it was just his company that built him that way and he rode with it for his entire career.
Kpop fans wanna talk about how he’s untouchable and not like other idols but look at his late-30s and 20-years-in-the-industry ass cowering behind his company due to being criticized for wearing a racist shirt that he has also worn in the past
First time had valid excuses as in, “he didnt know what the words meant” and shit like that but still having the same shirt 20 years later AND wearing it again? You’re fucking weird lmao. “Idol of Idols” btw
I guess the apology might be more believable if he didn’t have a history of being a very typically racist person.
