Fans of George Clarke have been left emotional following the star’s significant announcement.

Originally from Bristol, he co-presents the chart-topping podcast ‘The Useless Hotline’ with friend Max Balegde, boasting millions of followers and subscribers. However, George has now revealed a major announcement that has shocked fans.

It has been confirmed that George’s Useless Hotline Podcast, which launched in 2022, has concluded, with its concluding episode released on YouTube over the weekend. Sharing the video, entitled “The Final Episode”, the instalment opened with co-presenter Max confirming it “was not clickbait”, but rather “real news”.

The programme gained popularity for its chaotic and improvised exchanges, occasional guest spots, and light-hearted commentary on everyday challenges as it described itself as a “place to send your queries and dilemmas no matter how big, small, weird, or embarrassing.”

However, supporters have been left heartbroken, reports the Mirror. Responding on YouTube, one viewer posted: “I just had a feeling the latest tour was a goodbye tour but I’m still shocked. Really sad thinking back on so many Sunday evenings eagerly waiting for the 5pm episode and that won’t happen again.

“It feels like the end of an era. Ye had such great chemistry and that’s what made this podcast so good and so funny. Max getting drunk while interviewing Anastasia Kingsnorth will always be my favourite episode. Thank you Max and George for so many great moments and memories.”

Another viewer remarked: “it’s embarrassing how much i sobbed watching this, i’m going to miss having a pod to look forward to every sunday. you should both be so proud of yourselves, what a run the podcast was.”

A third reacted angrily: “This better be a f***** joke”, while a fourth responded: “IM SORRY WHAT!? IS THIS A JOKE???”

Someone else admitted: “im genuinely crying” while another declared: “APRILS FOOLS IS OVER GUYS.”

Following an emotional episode, the programme concluded with a montage spanning several years before on-screen text appeared stating: “Thank you for watching we love you all Max and George x.”

On his Instagram stories, George has since explained: “Been a very eventful 3+ years and had a lot of fun through it all. Feel very grateful to have had so much support throughout.

“We haven’t fallen out, we’re not going to stop being friends, I have a lot of love for Max and always will. We’re just in very different places than we were 3 years ago and this feels like the right time to move on after going halfway round the world from where it started.

“Thankyou to everyone who has listened, watched and come to the shows. And a massive thanks to Max for everything. Love you all x.”
