Mr. and Mrs. Bezos are ready for their big night. Despite the controversy surrounding them, this year’s Met Gala sponsors kicked off the celebrations early, joining a star-studded guest list at the pre-gala party yesterday evening in New York City.
Lauren Sánchez Bezos draped herself in blood red. The former journalist wore a fitted wrap top featuring a plunging neckline and a single black button, and she paired it with a matching maxi skirt. Both pieces were adorned with a floral jacquard print that shone as it hit the light. A black micro bag and pointy black pumps complemented her rouge set, while huge diamond studs and a bouncy bombshell blowout completed her look.
Jeff Bezos stepped up his style game, coordinating with his wife in glossy black boots with extra-pointy toes. He wore the shoes with a slick light-gray suit that he layered over a dark gray button-down and paired with his go-to aviator sunglasses.

Bezos and Sánchez Bezos have come into the spotlight as a couple since they tied the knot in a lavish Venice, Italy, wedding last summer. And now, they are footing the bill ($10 million) for fashion’s biggest night. (Their sponsorship has sparked much criticism from liberals, with crowds of protesters asking for people to boycott the “Bezos Met Gala” due to the Amazon boss’ close ties to the Trump administration.)
The 2026 Met Gala will celebrate the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s “Costume Art” exhibition with a parade of fashion and megawatt stardom. Mr. and Mrs. Bezos are the sponsors and honorary chairs, while co-chairs include Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, and Venus Williams; and host committee members include Sabrina Carpenter and Zoë Kravitz.
