Early predictions on who the next Bond girl will be have emerged amid the competition over who will become the new James Bond. Many expected that Amazon MGM Studios, who acquired the iconic franchise in February 2025, would reveal more news at CinemaCon in April this year on its upcoming James Bond film (which is being called “Bond 26” or “James Bond 26” as a working title) that will be directed by Dune director Denis Villeneuve. But they chose not to confirm any of the movie’s cast members, leaving the roles of MI6’s elite top agent and his potential femme fatale open. Still, several actresses have already become frontrunners on who people think will be the next Bond girl.

Sydney Sweeney is leading bets on being cast as the Bond girl in James Bond 26

American actress Sydney Sweeney holds the top spot in predictions on the next Bond girl, as noted by an early bet on Kalshi (as of May 4). That said, her lead is fairly thin and there are many contenders for the role, as suggested by the full results of the prediction market below (from highest to lowest chance).

Sydney Sweeney – 25%

Margaret Qualley – 17%

Anya Taylor-Joy – 14%

Florence Pugh – 12%

Zendaya – 12%

Lily James – 10%

Emma Mackey – 4%

Alicia Vikander – 2%

Ana de Armas – 2%

Jodie Comer – 2%

Vanessa Kirby – 2%

Cailee Spaney – Less than 1%

Daisy Edgar-Jones – Less than 1%

Hunter Schafer – Less than 1%

Mikey Madison – Less than 1%

Adria Arjona – Close to 0%

It’s important to take these Bond girl predictions with a grain of salt given how early they are. The actresses on this list might as well be a wishlist combined with a popularity contest, since we still don’t have much to go on at this point on the cast of James Bond 26. Still, they show who people are most interested in seeing for the role.

A separate bet on the next Bond girl in March from SportsCasting shows similar results to the Kalshi odds with Sydney Sweeney at the top, but there are other names on its list that aren’t available as options in the prediction market. The bet has Sweeney at 4/7 odds, Sabrina Carpenter at 7/2, Dua Lipa at 7/1, Zendaya at 7/1, and Kendall Jenner 8/1. Rounding out the top ten are Saoirse Ronan at 9/1, Kiernan Shipka at 10/1, Margot Qualley at 12/1, Florence Pugh at 14/1, and Joey King at 14/1.

Despite a controversial scene in Euphoria Season 3 involving Sweeney, her popularity has surged after the success of her film The Housemaid, which released in late December 2025 and earned a stunning $401 million at the box office on a low $35 million budget. Not only has the movie topped the streaming charts on Starz, but her film R-rated sports biopic Christy has also topped the charts on HBO Max. On the flipside, Sweeney could be very busy with The Housemaid sequel and the upcoming thriller The Caretaker. Also, TMZ reported in 2025 that Sweeney wasn’t being considered as the next Bond girl.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Amazon MGM Studios exec Courtenay Valenti said that they are being careful with who they decide to be the next James Bond, saying “we’re taking the time to do this with care and deep respect.” Given that this actor will likely be cast in multiple Bond films, it’s not a decision to be taken lightly.

Rumors on who will replace Daniel Craig include Jacob Elordi, Callum Turner, Harris Dickinson, Aaron-Taylor Johnson, and new entrant Louis Partridge. Prior reports from Variety stated that the studio was looking for a “British actor under the age of 30,” so it would not be out of place if they are searching for an actress in a similar age range. If so, that would be an advantage for Sydney Sweeney, Sabrina Carpenter, Zendaya, Kiernan Shipka, and Joey King.
