Connor Storrie made his debut at the 2026 Met Gala red carpet in New York City on Monday. The “Heated Rivalry” star wore an outfit designed by Saint Laurent‘s creative director Anthony Vaccarello and styled by James Yardley.

The 2026 Met Gala marked Storrie’s first-ever appearance at the event and his first as a Saint Laurent ambassador. Yardley, who styled the look, said the starting point for his outfit was always Storrie’s relationship with the house. “From the outset, we knew it was always going to sit within that classic Saint Laurent space, which felt appropriate for his first Met with the brand,” Yardley told WWD. “My role was to refine and shape what they presented so that Connor felt confident and comfortable in it.”

Storrie’s outfit featured a black suit paired with a high-ruffled polka-dot turtleneck blouse in black and white, anchored at the chest with a jeweled brooch. The look’s defining element is a dramatic floor-length train in the same polka-dot fabric, caught mid-movement and billowing out behind him.
Both Yardley and Storrie “had a clear sense of how we wanted it to feel” during the Met Gala, which the stylist described as “confident, elegant and authentic.”

“What came through in the end felt aligned with Anthony Vaccarello’s vision and his time at the house, with a quieter, more understated acknowledgment of the theme. There’s a confidence in that kind of restraint,” Yardley said.

Storrie’s invitation to the Met Gala follows a period of rapid rise in both entertainment and fashion. The 25-year-old American actor broke through internationally with his role as Ilya Rozanov, the brooding Russian hockey star at the center of HBO’s hit series “Heated Rivalry,” adapted from Rachel Reid’s Game Changers novels. He hosted “Saturday Night Live” in February and served as a torchbearer in the 2026 Winter Olympics torch relay.
The 2026 Met Gala took place on Monday at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This year’s exhibition, “Costume Art,” celebrated fashion as an art form, with a dress code of “Fashion Is Art.” The event was co-chaired by Beyonce Knowles-Carter, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour, with Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez Bezos serving as honorary chairs. The annual benefit raises funds for the Met’s Costume Institute.
