Jane Austen’s 1813 novel “Pride and Prejudice” remains one of the most beloved romances ever written — so it’s no surprise it’s been adapted for screen countless times. From faithful period dramas to more unexpected twists, you can watch “Pride and Prejudice” movies and TV series right now.

There’s another one on the way, too. Netflix is set to release a new six-part miniseries in autumn 2026 starring Emma Corrin and Jack Lowden, bringing fresh attention to Austen on the back of recent TV hit “The Other Bennet Sister”.

But if you’re looking to watch “Pride and Prejudice” online today, figuring out where each version is streaming – and where you can watch for free – isn’t always simple.

That’s where this guide comes in. Below, you’ll find a complete rundown of where to watch every major “Pride and Prejudice” adaptation, from classic favourites to more unconventional takes (yes, including the zombie one).

‘Pride and Prejudice’ (1995)

This iconic TV series starring Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy has soap opera vibes at times, but it stays loyal to the source material, creating a show that appeals to a modern audience and traditionalists at the same time.

It might even be the very best portrayal of the character. Firth offers a nuanced and emotional performance, with lots of character development over the six-episodes.

‘Pride & Prejudice’ (2005)

For my money, Joe Wright’s “Pride & Prejudice” is the best adaptation of the story. The chemistry between Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen is electric, and on a technical level — the costumes, the cinematography, and the score — no other version comes close. A must for Jane Austen purists.

Admittedly, I don’t watch a lot of Bollywood movies, but they’re always a treat. “Bride & Prejudice” captures the spirit of Austen’s novel, but it’s got a really vibrant energy and more colorful visual palette to set it apart. If you’re into musicals, this is definitely the version to watch.

‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ (2016)

Period dramas are typically a nice, gentle watch… but throw some zombies into the mix and you have quite the crossover. I’m a sucker for stylish fight sequences, which “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” has in abundance. This one is perfect if you’re looking for something a bit more, er, high-octane.

‘Pride and Prejudice’ (1940)

There’s a real charm to this Oscar-wining picture. It may be 86-years-old now, but the performances of Laurence Olivier and Greer Garson add a sparkle and wit to the film that makes it truly timeless. Personally, I don’t mind when movies stray from the source material a little bit, and this version of “Pride and Prejudice” does so by adding some good, old-fashioned comedy to proceedings.

I had a similar experience with this film as I did with “10 Things I Hate About You”, in that I thought I would find it cheesy and that the laughs would not work. I was totally wrong. This adaptation of “Pride and Prejudice” is billed as a “Latter-Day Comedy” and it certainly delivers on that front. It’s creative, fresh, and very, very sweet.
