Prince Harry has a few demands ahead of his and Meghan Markle’s upcoming trip to the U.K. this summer and “it’s already rubbing a lot of people the wrong way,” an insider tells In Touch.

“The last thing he wants is Meghan walking into a situation where she feels judged,” the insider explains. “He says all he’s asking is that she’s treated with basic respect and not cast as the villain before anything’s even happened.”

As In Touch previously reported, the former Suits star, 44, was pitted against Princess Kate almost from the start, and not just by the British press, but by Queen Camilla, too.

Harry, 41, “wants firm reassurance that everyone will keep things polite and give her a fair chance,” says the insider.

Navigating royal family dynamics has been “tricky” for the Duke of Sussex, the insider admits. “He’s trying to keep his father [King Charles III] on side while also protecting his wife.”

Back in March, sources told In Touch that Charles, 77, and Prince William are at “a complete standoff” over reconciling with Harry and that it’s “becoming a huge battle” between the king and his heir, 43.

“The irony here is that Harry has been the one begging for this chance to come back and now that it’s going his way, he’s putting up all these roadblocks,” notes the source. “Of course, people are assuming Meghan is the one pulling the strings, so in a way he’s only making things worse by doing this.”

At the end of the day, “Charles wants things to go smoothly,” the insider says. “But considering how openly opposed Camilla and William are to this, he doesn’t have an easy path.”
