Fez – Morocco’s Royal Family and people are celebrating on Friday the 23rd birthday of Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, in a moment marked by national pride and strong public affection for the Alaouite Throne.
The occasion recalls the birth of the Crown Prince on May 8, 2003, at the Royal Palace in Rabat. King Mohammed VI gave him the name Moulay El Hassan in tribute to his late grandfather, King Hassan II.
The anniversary remains an important national event for many Moroccans, reflecting the deep bond between the Throne and the people, as well as the continuity and stability of the Kingdom.
Over the past year, Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan continued to lead and appear at several official ceremonies and national events, both independently and alongside King Mohammed VI.
His public activities reflected his growing role within Morocco’s institutional and ceremonial life.
Among the most notable moments was his recent appointment by King Mohammed VI as Coordinator of the Offices and Services of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.
The Crown Prince also presided over major cultural, sporting, and national events held across the country.
He notably chaired the opening ceremony of the 31st International Publishing and Book Fair in Rabat, inaugurated the Mohammed VI Tower, and attended several events linked to Morocco’s sporting and military institutions.
These include the African Cup of Nations 2025’s opening ceremony, which he officially inaugurated.
The Crown Prince also represented the King at a number of official ceremonies and religious occasions throughout the year, continuing a long-standing royal tradition aimed at preparing future generations of the monarchy for public responsibility and national service.
As Morocco marks the Crown Prince’s 23rd birthday, the celebration stands as both a family occasion for the Royal Household and a symbolic national moment for the Kingdom.
