After spending the last year on tour, hitting us hard and soft, Billie Eilish has finally decided to hard launch her relationship.

On Wednesday, Eilish and Nat Wolff made their red carpet debut at the world premiere of her concert movie Billie Eilish—Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D) in Los Angeles. The project, which she co-directed with James Cameron, charts her sold-out four-night run in Manchester, England last year. The pop star walked the red carpet alongside Cameron, her brother and collaborator Finneas O’Connell, and her boyfriend, Wolff—their first real public appearance as a couple.

Wolff and Eilish have been romantically linked since about March 2025, followed by months of speculation, covert pap shots, and the pair expertly swerving red carpets. Before the the rumor mill started churning, however, the pop star and actor-musician were firm friends—and isn’t that how all good romances start?

In recent years, Eilish has been careful to keep quiet about her relationships. In her 2024 Vogue cover story, she declared she is “never talking about who I’m dating ever again,” after feeling stung by the way her sexuality and dating life were discussed and dissected in the media.

“I guess I underestimate that things I say will be blown up into the biggest news of the whole world. That’s so unnatural. We’re all babies. We’re all little kids growing up and learning ourselves,” she said at the time.

Eilish has been candid and clear about her bisexuality, though. Speaking to Rolling Stone in April 2024 and referencing the female love interest in her song “Lunch,” she said: “I’ve been in love with girls for my whole life, but I just didn’t understand—until, last year, I realized I wanted my face in a vagina.” She went on: “Who fucking cares? The whole world suddenly decided who I was, and I didn’t get to say anything or control any of it.”

It seems like she and Wolff have built a bond based on shared struggles, group hangs, and very good taste in music. Below, a brief timeline of Billie Eilish and Nat Wolff’s slow-burn romance.

March 2023: Billie meets Nat’s brother Alex

Alex Wolff—Nat’s younger brother, bandmate, and former co-star on the Nickelodeon musical comedy series The Naked Brothers Band—first met Eilish at an Oscars party back in 2023. He told Variety that he, Nat, and Eilish quickly became friends after Eilish met Nat later that year, at the Academy Museum Gala.

“Billie and me and my brother, we all have Tourette’s. And I think we all have bonded over that,” Alex said. “Even when I saw Billie on interviews, I said, ‘Oh, she’s one of us.’” (Eilish was diagnosed with Tourette’s when she was 11, and went public at 16 after fans made compilation videos of her physical tics.)

“We know all the ways that we try to mute ourselves or try and chill ourselves out or soften ourselves for other people, and how nice it is to not have to do that for certain people,” he continued.

April 2024: Coachella

Eilish headed to the desert with both brothers, which was documented on the Nate & Alex Wolff band Instagram. Photos show Eilish getting a piggyback ride and watching the acts from the crowd on Wolff’s shoulders. “Never was a post weekend debilitating cold so worth it,” reads the caption.
