      The difference in listening to what’s special to the individual woman and not gifting “random shit women like” with a giant pouring of self-absorbed, ownership on top.

      Most of us would prefer the special tights over the ugly, “owner tag” of a basic necklace.

      My favorite ramen brand disappeared like 8 or so years ago maybe now, and if someone EVER somehow gets ahold of the specific flavor I couldn’t get enough of it would be an insanely meaningful gift. I get her, it’s the little joys you want back that mean so much

      I’m one of those people that’s obsessed with toast – it’s just so satisfying and I’ll eat it at any time of the day. I also hate sleeping in the dark so I used to keep the en suite light on and the door slightly ajar – my boyfriend pays the electricity bill so he’d always turn the light off / close the door when he came to bed.
      One year for my birthday I asked him for a new handbag that was around £200 – he got it for me and it was perfect, he then handed me another present and said ‘I didn’t want you to only have one thing to open’
      I opened it and it was a small nightlight shaped like a toaster with a little smiley piece of toast popping out of it
      I had never felt so seen by someone 🩷✨

      I love my hubby but he's completely clueless at buying gifts.
      I think the only time he did good was about 6 years ago. Mothers day. He had brought me hone from his work 5 big 4by4 by 3 deep wooden crates his boss said sure take them g e made them into frames for 5 raised garden beds. It wasn't really garden time yet but I was looking at them and wondering how in the world was i going to fill them all.
      Well for mothers day (day before actually) he and my teen kids got me out of the house and he had delivered to our home 2 yards of compost and good black type topsoil.
      I had 2 big bags of perlite and when we got(the kids and) returned from eating and taking my mother her gift.he had it all sitting tgere with a big pink bow. And wheelbarrow to help me mix and fill the raised beds
      We changed out of our nice clothing and started mixing and filling
      I loved my dirt. Somewhere is a photo of me standing between the piles with a big silly look on my face and another of all sweating and dirty but the boxes were filled. 😅
