May 7 (UPI) — Illumination has released a final trailer for the new film Minions & Monsters.

The upcoming animated feature is the seventh entry in the Despicable Me franchise and the third film to focus on the Minions, first introduced as the loveable henchmen of Despicable Me’s Gru.

Minions & Monsters is a prequel to the 2015 movie Minions that follows the creatures as they attempt to make a monster movie in Old Hollywood.

“This is the rambunctious, ridiculous and totally true story of how the Minions conquered Hollywood, became movie stars, lost everything, unleashed monsters onto the world and then banded together to try and save the planet from the mayhem they had just created,” an official synopsis reads.

The voice cast includes Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, Jeff Bridges, Jesse Eisenberg, Zoey Deutch and Trey Parker. Pierre Coffin returns to direct the film and voice the Minions.
