I think what the cartel does to innocent people is abhorrent but celebrities love their drugs too much to abstain forever.
For how much she says she doesn’t care about things she does a lot. I don’t have a say on her opinion but she is selectively blind about certain things and only pick and chooses what she wants. Billie and Finneas are constantly seeking internet validation and keeps giving explanations to their statements.

Is factory farming bad? Yeah, it’s awful.
Is veganism feasible, healthy or desirable for most people? No.
Billie and Finneas are the kind of privileged performative liberals that are absolutely fucking insufferable.
Sometimes ignoring backlash is just the smarter way to go.
I don’t think she’s wrong, but being a vegetarian is hard. I got really tired when I gave up meat in high school. It’s just not a realistic goal, and the data shows that even more vegetarian-friendly cultures start eating more meat the more money they have.
I really hope lab grown meat will take off and replace a lot of the super processed stuff. I will happily eat lab grown hamburgers and hotdogs and chicken nuggets and chicken salad and stuff like that. Then real meat could become more of an artisanal thing for premium meat products, and the animals could be treated more humanely.
I really like Billie and I understand where she’s coming from and yeah it can be frustrating to have your empathy called evil by bad actors. At the same time, no one in the history of the world has ever wanted to be lectured by rich people.
You can’t expect everyone to want to behave as you do and shame them when they don’t. You have to make your own choices and stand by them but it isn’t really her place to judge others. It’s also just never a good idea to call the good thing someone does bad because they didn’t do more good.
This will start the next pop culture war…here for the comments, but sometimes it’s just better to keep your mouth shut.

I used to also live in a back and white world as a young adult/teen. So I kind of get it. As I grew I realized the world is actually shades of grey. Good and bad often overlap.
You could say the same thing about loving people and how phones are made in sweatshops by modern slave labor. Life is more complicated than binary takes.

As someone who grew up on a dairy and beef farm, I can promise you plowing fields for fruits and vegetables kills snakes, rats, worms, frogs, groundhogs, and pretty much anything living in that soil too. Acting like one side is bloodless and morally superior is just internet fantasy, ma’am. Also, not everyone kills the animals like you posted.
She said in a recent interview she plans on having children. But she uses an iphone, for which reports have come out of forced and child labour. So she can’t possibly like kids or humans because that is inherently wrong right?

We live in a world where most things are unfortunately unethically sourced in some form or fashion, and the average person has no control over that. The performative theatrics need to stop. Stop picking and choosing what to be upset at. She and all these other folks who are constantly virtue signaling just look like hypocrites.
You can’t claim to love the environment while also taking commercial flights all over the world dozens of times a year. See? We can all have cognitive dissonance.

I eat meat but I honestly don’t see how anyone can dispute what she’s saying. She’s right.
She’s still right. And I’m not a vegan or vegetarian. It IS cognitive dissonance to treat some animals like babies and some like objects. That’s just a fact. It doesn’t become wrong because she’s rich or wrong about other issues or didn’t speak about X, Y, or Z.
No it doesn’t mean you have to be a vegan. Yes it can be cost prohibitive. Yes it isn’t realistic for everyone.

Not everything has to be some moral high ground be vegan if you want but don’t shit on others who aren’t when no industry is 100% clean, and you yourself are also inconsistent with your morals. Doesn’t she rep makeuo brands that test on animals?
Girl needs to quit while she’s ahead. I appreciate that she uses her platform to speak about things she cares about, but she has *never* had to worry about going hungry in her life, and being a healthy vegan is legitimately impossible for some people. She also seems to lean hard into shaming rather than educating. What food are you eating, Billie? And who’s preparing it for you?
