Since debuting her face-lift last year (she still very much loves it, if you were wondering), Kris Jenner has never shied away from talking about the work it takes to look like she does. In the spirit of transparency, she recently shared that her beloved surgeon is not the only thing keeping her skin so dewy. Apparently, like so many other celebrities, Jenner also swears by peptides.
Appearing in a Mother’s Day–themed episode of the women’s health podcast She MD earlier this week, Jenner sat down with co-hosts Mary Alice Haney and Kardashian-Jenner family doctor Thais Aliabadi to discuss everything from getting a hysterectomy after her annual Prenuvo alerted her to growing spots on her ovaries to letting the “water-cooler moment” that was young Kylie dancing on a stripper pole in an early season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians air on television. Later in the hour-and-a-half-long conversation, Haney asked “America’s mother” how she looks so good at her age. “I love a good peptide,” Jenner replied.
She explained that she realized the injection was “really great for me” after an early stint with Ozempic — which is also a peptide — left her feeling sick, nauseous, and unable to work. She turned to Aliabadi, who suggested she try something else; Jenner added that she follows up her peptides (she didn’t mention specifically which ones she takes) with supplements Aliabadi advises her to use, like fish oil.
It seems like Jenner has joined a rapidly growing faction of peptide-therapy enthusiasts, who claim (mostly online) that these products — synthetic versions of the proteins that help our cells function, and not all of them FDA-approved — can achieve just about any aesthetic miracle you want, from reversing the signs of aging to building muscle and even tanning your skin. Biohackers and looksmaxxers swear by them; Joe Rogan and Clavicular are fans. As New York reported in January, the lack of clinical trials in the peptide-therapy industry leaves users to rely on anecdotal reviews — including, apparently, Kris Jenner’s — and self-experimentation.
In any case, Jenner’s nondescript peptide-supplement combination was apparently a “game changer” for her, making her more alert and energized at the end of the day. “That actually bought me an extra couple hours at night because I get up so early. I tend to want to go and collapse as soon as I have my last email or my last call or see my kids and have dinner and I’m done,” she told Haney and Aliabadi. Of course, it’s not all fun and peptides; Jenner also strength trains three times a week and does Pilates, and she didn’t pass up the chance to give her “very well-known face-lift” another shout-out. There you have it! Happy Mother’s Day to Jenner and her stack.
