Prince William has such a bad temper that he leaves King Charles “terrified”, according to allegations in a new book. Author Christopher Andersen addresses the Prince of Wales’ temper in his new book, ‘Kate! The Courage, Grace, and Power of the Woman who will be Queen.”

Speaking to Page Six in a recent interview, the writer said, “William is capable of great bellowing tantrums.” Before noting that while the future King is “kind and considerate to a fault” with staff and strangers and never raises his voice to his wife or three children, he doesn’t have the same restraint when it comes to his father.

A former Highgrove member of staff who reportedly witnessed a number of shouting matches said the Prince “does resort to shouting when he gets frustrated.”

“William has a huge, booming voice,” they continued. “Much louder than his father’s, so it’s not something you soon forget.”

According to Andersen, however, William’s fiery nature should come as no surprise given King Charles “has a Vesuvius temper.”

Previously writing about exactly that, Andersen described an alleged incident in his 2022 biography of the king where he once tore “a sink off the wall” in frustration after losing a cufflink down the drain.

This isn’t the first time William’s temper has been brought into the spotlight, however, as his brother Prince Harry detailed in his memoir, Spare. The Duke of Sussex recalled that he and his brother got into a very heated altercation over his wife, Meghan Markle.

In the autobiography, Harry says the confrontation at his London home in 2019 kicked off when William called Meghan “difficult”, “rude,” and “abrasive”, which the younger brother says was “parroting off the press narrative” regarding his American wife.

Harry claimed that William, who was “piping hot,” lunged at him, grabbing him by the collar and throwing him to the floor as he landed on a dog’s bowl, “which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me.”

The Duke writes that William initially wanted to talk about “the whole rolling catastrophe” of their relationship and struggles with the press. But when he arrived at Nottingham Cottage, where Harry was living at the time, William was already furious.

After complaining about Meghan, Harry told his brother he was repeating the narrative spewed by the press and that he expected better from him.

But the Prince of Wales was not being rational at the time, and instead the conversation led to a major shouting match between the siblings. Harry then accused his older brother of acting like an heir, unable to understand why his younger brother was not content to be a spare.

Insults were exchanged between them, before William claimed he was just trying to help Harry. “Are you serious? Help me? Sorry – is that what you call this? Helping me?” Harry said. That comment enraged William, who started swearing while stepping toards him.

Now scared, Harry wrote, he went to the kitchen as his furious brother followed him in there. The Duke said he gave William a glass of water and said: “Willy, I can’t speak to you when you’re like this.”

He said: “He set down the water, called me another name, then came at me. It all happened so fast. So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace and he knocked me to the floor.

“I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.” Harry wrote how William urged him to hit back, citing fights they had as children.

When Harry refused to do so, William left, Harry says, then returned “looking regretful, and apologised”, before saying: “‘You don’t need to tell Meg about this’.”

When Meghan later noticed “scrapes and bruises” on her fiance’s back and he told her of the attack, Harry said she “wasn’t that surprised, and wasn’t all that angry. She was terribly sad.”
