Dressed in a blue silk saree, actor Trisha Krishnan attended Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam chief C Joseph Vijay’s oath-taking ceremony as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on Sunday. Moments before he took the oath, Trisha expressed that she was “looking forward” to witnessing the historic event. She was accompanied by her mother, Uma Krishnan.
Trisha looked elegant in a striking blue silk saree with golden accents. She styled it with a beige embroidered blouse and a set of statement jewels. A diamond and ruby choker with matching earrings were her picks. Minimal makeup, a dainty bindi, and malli poo (jasmine flowers)-adorned hair completed her look.
TVK’s historic win in Tamil Nadu
Vijay’s party TVK emerged as the single largest party in the recently concluded assembly elections in Tamil Nadu by securing 108 seats. It defeated two Dravidian giants, DMK and AIADMK, who have been ruling the state since the 60s.

Trisha’s support for Vijay during election campaign
On May 4, Trisha visited Tirupati Temple on the day of the Assembly election results, when early trends showed Vijay’s party making a strong start. It was also Trisha’s birthday on May 4, and she celebrated it with an early morning visit. She had shared an Instagram video on Sunday night while travelling to Tirupati, and by Monday morning, visuals of her offering prayers had surfaced online.

Later in the day, Trisha also visited Vijay’s residence in Chennai after his party secured a phenomenal lead. Arriving in a white car, she acknowledged photographers gathered outside with a brief smile.
During polling on April 23, Trisha had also shared an Instagram post after voting. She used a Ghilli soundtrack as the background music for the post. For the unaware, Ghilli was one of their successful films.
