This happened to me when I auditioned for Brigitta in a local production of this. I think I was 9-10! Lost it because the height match ups didn’t work with the other kids in contention for the other siblings.

why is she suspicious that Jimmy doesn’t know who the Vonn Trapp children are like the Sound of Music is a super deep cut lol

My uncle was too tall to be a submarine captain in the navy.

My son was too short to play Maui in our local school production of Moana. He got to be Hei Hei instead 😅

The easy fix would’ve been to make sure her shoes were flatter compared to the older sister.

The Matilda audition rules require them to be under a certain height to allow for growth. Its really common in kids roles. Even when its not for aesthetics like for Sound of Music.

Based on her age, it’s possible the Liesl she stood next to at auditions was Laura Benanti.

My running joke has always been I’m too tall to do crime. I was 6’2″ by the time I was 16. Everyone in my college “knew” who I was even if they didn’t know me. The neighbourhoods I lived in it would be like 2 degrees from Kevin Bacon in terms or knowing who they’re talking about. It’s actually a a bit thrilling to see ACTUAL tall people being cast in roles, especially women in leading roles although they somehow still do their darnedest to make them seem shorter? Gwendoline Cristie, Alan Richardson, and I are all the same height. In Reacher, Alan is poised to look intimidating and masculine…I find it quite odd that Gwen wasn’t shot the same way to make her height more imposing when she was in GOT. She was mostly shot from above or in a wider pan and that actually defeats the point of her character.

First time a 5’2 person has been referred to as too tall. Makes my short self glad

So relatable. We all wanted to get that roles. Sp relatable – except for the part where her parents are superwealthy and she probanly already had an agent. I still like her. Anyways… I’m just jealous, I guess.
