A first look at the preshow for the upcoming Mandalorian and Grogu mission on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run reveals another comic plot twist unrelated to the central pair.
First Look at Updated Smugglers Run Preshow
Instagram user writing.rides shared a Reel of the updated preshow, filmed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 8, featuring Hondo Ohnaka and R5 (with a cameo appearance by Chewbacca), which explains how you come to be manning the Millennium Falcon for your mission.
In the original preshow, after explaining the ride concept, the ship arrives, and Chewie appears onscreen. Hondo greets him, and their one-sided dialogue reveals that a previous “win-win” arrangement allowed Hondo to borrow the Falcon to retrieve coaxium for the Resistance while he keeps the profits.
However, the updated dialogue shows that this time around, the smuggler is “borrowing” the Falcon without Chewie’s knowledge. After explaining to us that “speed is profit,” the Falcon appears, and Hondo welcomes the Wookiee, reassuring him that “as [they] discussed,” he can leave the ship at the spaceport: “It is perfectly safe.”
Chewbacca growls with audible doubt, but Hondo cuts him off before turning to us and gleefully declaring, “I found you the perfect ship!” You are then ushered into the next part of the queue.

‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ Mission
On May the Fourth, Disney Parks shared a first look at the mission briefing video guests will see on The Mandalorian & Grogu version of Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, coming to Disneyland and Walt Disney World on May 22, 2026. Walt Disney World Annual Passholder reservations are already booked up for Disney’s Hollywood Studios on that date.
