Klum, who’s known for turning Halloween into her personal fashion show, went full-on sculpture by referencing Raffaele Monti’s 1846 piece “Veiled Vestal.”
“I went walking around in the Met and Raffaele Monti, he’s done most of the sculptures from the 1800s, so I looked and I was like, ‘Wow, this is so beautiful. The drape, and it’s all in marble, but how can you make that with fabric?’” the model told Vogue on the carpet.
Also turning heads at Met Gala was Cardi B in a puffy Marc Jacobs dress that was a play on 1935 Hans Bellmer piece “The Doll,” and model Anok Yai in a tearful Balenciaga look that brought sculpture “Mater Dolrosa” to life.
