This is actually a remake of a remake. The original 1962 version with Robert Mitchum as Cady is worth watching, it's the most realistic and closer to the source material. The 1991 version with Robert De Niro as Cady is a good watch just for De Niro's performance, but otherwise not very believable. This 3rd version looks even less plausible and more of a cash grab. I guess Hollywood thinks that they can redo these movies every 30 years or so for the younger generation who didn't see the originals…

I’ve always been a HUGE fan of both Cape Fear movies, so when I heard a miniseries was in the works … I was cautiously optimistic bc I don’t want them to mess up what has been, in my opinion, the best movie series about revenge ever. But after watching this … I am very content. Not to mention happy that they’re not only making things complex in a way that the 1991 film did, but also keeping Max Cady as creepy, sadistic, lecherous, colorful, and psychotic as he’s always been.
