    2. Selling it now because financial advisors tell them this is your return if you hold it for another 5 years vs selling it right now.

      I could’ve sworn they sold it a couple of years ago: Something like $150-200 mil.

      Ok, reading the article: “ It follows on from a previous deal that the band struck with Hipgnosis – who now go by Recognition Music Group – to sell the publishing rights to their music for a reported $140million (£102million).”

      Think I need a ELI5 on what’s the difference.

      Their last tour (’22-’24) generated more revenue than this at $400M and was their highest tour amount according to Wiki. I feel like they could have sold their catalog for more than just $300 if this is the confirmed amount.
