      I’m a former dem staffer from the senate and I’ll be honest; after musk took over fully, we all had qualms of being on twitter. Esp now, with it being infiltrated with right wing trolls on every topic, it’s gotten so much worse.

      There’s just no alternative when it comes to sharing breaking news, succinctly and effectively. Twitter THRIVES on breaking news. Bluesky can’t cope and neither can Threads (not that zuck is a better alternative). The day dem staffers can leave Twitter, I’m sure everyone will be beyond ecstatic. There just isn’t a comparable medium at this moment.

      I don’t know who this is, but I agree that everyone needs to get off X. Every time you use X, you are giving money to a racist, transphobic, eugenicist, oligarch billionaire (on track to become the world’s first trillionaire very soon). It blows my mind that so many “liberals” and even “leftists” are still on it and defend using it.

      No idea on who this person is, but here in the UK our government is trying to punish twitter for repeatedly breaching our laws and standards, by sharing porn to children and the like.

      However, at the same time, every government branch and politician uses it to put out messages, plenty pay twitter to advertise on their service.

      The hypocrisy surrounding twitter is wild. It’s owned and run by a fascist, why is anyone still using it??

      I read her book where she spent a significant amount of time dunking on our tech overlords, which was great. But she can’t escape the fact that she spent so much of her career empowering these technofeudalists, building them up, and building up their companies. She helped create the problem by not sounding the alarm bells on how dangerous they were long ago. She was too busy hobnobbing with the rich and powerful and making her own small fortune.

      Never heard of this lady but she sounds full of herself. Zuck is hardly better than Musk, he just doesn’t put himself in the public eye as much.

      Im not supporting Twitter but these low level journalists have to work harder than someone who is established.

      Zuckerberg just appears comparably acceptable next to Musk (it’s a really low bar). But make no mistake, they have both kissed the ring.

      Sure leaving Twitter was bittersweet, I’d made connections on there and was even recruited for the best job I ever had through the platform. But no amount of nostalgia could ever justify staying on such a vile platform.

      I’ve been off all Meta-platforms for years now as well. Sure, I’m not always in the loop. But I also found that I don’t really miss it. I enjoy not constantly being connected, dialled in, and available.
