Colombian designer Amarpo says the Met contacted them about designing embroidered napkins and they worked with them for months on revisions and changes only to be ghosted and have their designs be digitally reproduced.

    Yikes.

This happened to a designer who uses human hair to weave into her dresses. They worked with her- dropped her last min then made their own based on her design. Deplorable

Atp anyone who works with them need to Ask for a deposit upfront and get a contract signed .

    3. What an actual mess this Met was, speaks volumes about Jeff. Fucker steals from everyone else.

How embarassing is for the met gala who supposed to support arts, to be the one who steal the art from others? Like seriously😂

How very Amazon of the Met.

Can’t imagine who in charge of the event this year would ever approve of doing something like that…

Since you mentioned it…when I saw the giant moon installation I thought oh cool it’s Luke Jerram’s Museum of the Moon, makes sense cos it’s an art museum and all that. But it wasn’t, apparently it was Baz Luhrmann’s idea and they had it made for the event.

I’m not saying one artist or creator has a monopoly on the moon but this is almost exactly the same as this artist’s work which is pretty well known? Seemed weird to me but maybe I’m getting the wrong impression. [https://my-moon.org/](https://my-moon.org/)

Sometimes I’m scared to put myself out there creatively because of shit like this. I wanna do so much stuff but I don’t want anything stolen. I’m not saying I’m the best or have the best ideas, but it’s scary to think you can trust someone only to then have your ideas taken from you and used without your knowledge.

These are the same millionaires/billionaires who tell us to not buy avocado toast and don’t pay people for the work THEY do for them. Please stop glorifying them, for those that do.

    9. This and the dress they put in the exhibit reminded me of a thing the Amazon guy does in his house where he cannot have trees too tall, so each month he pays the fine to keep it like that. In here, he will just pay and forget all about it to then do it again elsewhere, that is his brand.

It’s just sickening. The entire justification for this bourgeoisie circlejerk of an event is that it supposedly supports the arts. Supports the *arts* for an institution that is supposed to be the pinnacle of honoring and preserving *art.* Like if it was just some blown out celebrity party, the plagiarism would still suck, but would be almost expected. But this is disgusting on a whole other level.

Waiting for the people to show up saying we shouldn’t care about this because we’re using Reddit or iPhones or whatever so it’s hypocritical to criticize. They were so loud and proud for Bezos a week ago.

    12. You mean to tell me that the event sponsored by the guy who makes money off a platform that does nothing about knockoff products had knockoff stuff at the event and people are surprised?!

Folks, billionaires are not your friend, and they never ever will be.
