A four-part drama showing the shocking crimes of John Worboys, known as the black cab rapist, was “an important, vital story to tell,” said the actress who plays one of the victims.
Newport-born Aimée-Ffion Edwards, known for roles in Peaky Blinders and Skins, plays Sarah, in Believe Me, which tells the story of one of Britain’s most prolific sex attackers and how the victims were failed by the Metropolitan Police.
The drama focuses on the traumas of Sarah and Laila (Aasiya Shah) who reported the crimes.
Worboys, 68, was jailed after being found guilty of 19 sex offences against 12 women in 2009. In 2019 he was sentenced to life with a minimum term of six years after more victims came forward.
