In 2000, an 11-year-old Daniel Radcliffe sat in a theatre with his parents, not knowing a producer sitting behind him was about to change his life forever. This is the story behind the Harry Potter films: the exhausting search for the perfect cast, the enormous pressure of building an entire wizarding world from scratch, and what it really cost Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint and the other young cast members to grow up on the most watched film set in history. From thousands of audition tapes to the death of Richard Harris, this is how a little bit of real magic got made.

    1. Ugh, HBO don't ruin this. I'm holding out hope that it will be good, please be good. Maybe they see something we cannot in casting, hopefully they remain faithful to the material. This video just reminded me of how lucky we were the first time to get people who genuinely felt a responsibility to the material and actors.

    2. "Didn't know what Hogwarts looked like. What school uniforms looked like. What wands look like." Brought to you by the brilliant world building of JK Rowling lol (massive fan of the books and movies, but let's be real)

    3. Daniel's parents saying 'no' at first just makes me smile. I always hear about these fame driven parents that push their children to achieve the dreams they couldn't, so this is very beautiful. Money is secondary to your child's happiness

    4. Such a good video, thought it would be just about Daniel Radcliffe’s audition(kinda boring), but then it ended up being a great little documentary about the hp movies production!!

    5. I love your videos. It really connect with my soul. Every time I watch some video of yours, it takes me to the part of the human being I like most. And that is when something is genuine. Thank you, thank you so much for keep doing this videos.

    6. We almost have Draco as Harry Potter, would totally see that xD
And now they decided to remake the best version of Harry Potter 😭😭

    7. watching this just proves how they won't be able to pull this of in the Harry Potter reboot the casting and the atmosphere is soo perfect in these films even though they feel like summaries of the books.

    8. I enjoyed this video, thank you! I love Harry Potter! The books, the films and the making of's. I hope I will get to see all of the new series!
