Love on the Spectrum’s Dani Bowman on the use of the R-Slur in Euphoria and by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson at the Roast of Kevin Hart: “As someone on the autism spectrum, it’s honestly painful to watch this language become socially acceptable again in pop culture.”
I hate that its coming back into use istg we’re regressing so badly 😭

I loathe the word. How are people still using it this day and age? Words do hurt
A little anecdote.. years ago in Australia, there was a campaign to try and stop indigenous youth from sniffing paint, fuel etc to get high. It was coupled with the phrase – ‘doing this is deadly,’ or something to that effect. However, the word ‘deadly’ when used amongst indigenous youth especially means ‘cool.’
The people who came up with this campaign didn’t even do their research.
People are ignorant when it comes to language and especially towards those who suffer more than most.
We can and should do better

Love her for speaking out and calling out the names. The use of the word is so disrespectful and dehumanizing, especially when used in a context of a roast.
