A heart wrenching episode to be followed by the tragedy that is Ghost Denny with Ghost Sex^tm.

    2. Honestly, I never liked Denny, but this was such a great moment. I rewatched that scene a few months ago and I choked up — Katherine Heigl is such a great cryer. Now I’m going to go listen to Chasing Cars.

I’m someone who totally made the Grey’s Anatomy soundtrack my whole ass personality for awhile.

    4. One of the best episodes of Grey’s!

Those last 10 minutes are Grey’s at its peak

This was the peak of Katherine’s career before she decided to nuke it.

I binged this season for the first time recently and I think binging it makes the whole storyline seem even more insane than if you watched week to week

    8. It’s really great that there arr people out there willing to keep us informed of these events.

I was thinking about this recently, but the rewatchability of Grey’s really has declined precipitously since like at least season 12. I mean say what you will about its dialogue/quality/realisticness, I could rewatch seasons 2-8 all day long. If nothing else, they’re iconic. I can’t say that about late-stage Grey’s. Hell, I barely even care anymore. On the rare occasions that I tune in, it’s mostly out of habit. The show has been in its death throes for years and just needs to end atp.

I remember being a fresh Irish immigrant to America and being thrilled that Snow Patrol were getting attention.

    13. I’m currently rewatching this with my sister-in-law — I’ve seen it before, but she hasn’t. We’re currently in season 2 and while I’m looking forward to her watching that season’s finale, I’m *more* excited to see her reaction to the Code Black double episode (“It’s the End of the World” and “As We Know it”).

I’ve honestly forgotten everything about this relationship so it doesn’t hit as hard as George or Lexie & Mark. I think I loved Lexie and Mark more than any other couple and the show never felt the same without them.

I clearly remember watching this with a group of friends and we dressed up in scrubs and I absolutely lost my shit and could not stop crying way after the episode was over.

Years later, I broke up with a guy who I thought was ~the one~ and I could not get off my bathroom floor (like Izzie)

I saw this episode for the first time about a year before we in late 2024 found out my 16 yr old son had severe heart failure, and he was put on an LVAD for 6 weeks before he had a heart transplant. I distinctly remembered the term “LVAD” from Denny’s plot line and vowed to myself I’d never finish the show due the risk of ripping up old wounds.

Maybe one day in a few years when the mental scars of it all have faded, I really should rewatch it.
