The headline implies that she is preparing her daughter to also date Milo Ventimiglia.

as someone who’s only had age-appropriate relationships (oldest person I dated was two years older than me; youngest was only one year younger), I can never imagine being “prepared” for my daughter to be in a huge age gap relationship, and I don’t even have a kid.

I’m in my 30s and have been a teacher for almost 15 years. And while yes, there are kids who end up growing up much faster than they should, they are still kids and it’s so noticeable, in the smallest of ways. They should be protected. This is not just “something people do”, this is part of a very deliberate behavior. The adults in her life should have protected, or at least warned, her.

Damn, it sounds like she’s been through so much. I wish her and all trauma survivors consistent emotionally mature people in their life so they can heal.

    4. I was in an two age gap relationships (18/27), then (22/30) I didn’t think it was weird. No one I was around thought it was.

I’m 29 now, most of my social circle is a similar age to me. I think it’s weird, they thinks it’s weird. However I have friends from 18 who didn’t think anything of it at the time. It’s an unfortunate reality.

So she says her parents would not have let her date him if he “creepy” but these are the same parents who were abusive? I hope she has a better relationship with her daughter and just doesn’t say Oh well, it’s ok because I did it?

I’m on the wait list at the library so haven’t read her book yet if she goes more in depth there…

    6. I think Wladimir Klitschko being her daughter’s father means she potentially doesn’t need to worry about this.
