Eurovision 2026 came to an end tonight with a showstopping Grand Final in Vienna. It was another special night for the 70th edition of the international song contest as Finland/Australia were crowned the winner in the Austrian Capital.

It was a less positive night for the UK as Look Mum No Computer represented the country. The musician, whose real name is Sam Battle, took to the stage to perform Eins, Zwei, Drei. The playful performance was praised by BBC commentator Graham Norton who said it captured the fun spirit of Eurovision.

The chat show host said: “What a great performance. he really worked that crowd. He looked like he had a great time. this is not his natural habitat. I’m sure Sam never thought he would be on the stage at Eurovision.

“He did, but he did it brilliantly. I so hope the people around Europe respond to that in the way the crowd in the arena did.”

Viewers following on social media platform X were not so optimistic. Ian posted: “On the fence with our uk entry. Valiant effort, okay song, wont win.” Emma posted: “I can confidently say that the UK won’t be winning this year”

Vithun posted: “Oh I know he tried his best but I fear for the UK after that performance. Anyway the benefit of leaving the UK means I can vote for us at least”

The UK was one of the big four to perform tonight along with France, Germany and Italy. The UK has appeared in every Eurovision Grand Final since 1959 and has went on to be crowned winner on five occasions. The winner is determined by a combination of points from national juries and viewer votes

The UK has not always fared well in the public vote as last year’s entrant, Remember Monday, received nul points from 20 countries and also in the public votes. Look Mum No Computer received the dreaded nul points at tonight’s show and the ECHO has included a full breakdown of the results
