Eric Dane Vowed to Avoid ‘Hopelessness’ in Final Days of ALS Battle (Exclusive)

ET has an exclusive first look at an all-new documentary short, ‘Ring Every Bell,’ about Eric Dane’s life with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), or Lou Gehrig’s disease, from I AM ALS, the largest ALS advocacy movement, premiering on Monday, May 18, on I AM ALS’s website and YouTube channels. In a candid interview, Eric reflected on avoiding the trap of falling into ‘hopelessness’ while fighting a disease that strips patients of their autonomy, vowing to fight until his final days to help others battling the illness. Eric died in February, less than a year after going public with his diagnosis of the progressive, fatal neurodegenerative disease.
