      183 days in a country to have to pay taxes?!Centimillionaires are allowed to jetset around the world to their huge mansions without contributing anything to the local economy. A real fucking victim. Pobrecita 🙁

      Edit: Shakira is a “tax resident” of the Bahamas. She doesn’t pay income tax in Colombia, she doesn’t pay income tax in Spain where her ex partner and children are.

      To ELY5, she pays no income tax because even though she ostensibly lives in a given country, the government can’t prove she was there for the required time, ie she has a private jet and can say “well, I was actually over here for this month, over here for that month, etc”. This is the oldest trick in the book for wealthy people.

      I never really cared about this whole debacle because there was poetic justice in a latina woman finessing the spanish gov but this is just beautiful.
