I’ve never wanted a picture.  A handshake and thank you for all the entertainment and thoughts they’ve given me over the years is all I want to give them.  I don’t need anything else in return.

The man is 83 years old and the most successful songwriter in recorded history. He gets a pass for whatever he wants.

What do Beatles fans say about the claim that he is being robbed of his dignity when he allows himself to be photographed with them?

I always find pictures with celebrities very awkward. It’s more that you want to flaunt that you met them, not actually have a moment with them.

I’ve seen some celebrities in my days, usually I just quietly say I’m a fan of your work and move on with my day. I’ve had a few encounters where I’ve talked to people. I told Kristen Stewart I loved Agnes Varda too(she’s one of her favourite directors ) and we chatted about her for 5 minutes and that was that. To me it’s way more satisfying than grabbing a selfie.
