In my opinion, Michael loves Julianne, but he chooses the security of Kimberly—whom he likes a lot, but doesn’t truly love—and we can see that throughout the movie. Julianne is an emotional wreck and handled her feelings for Michael the wrong way, but I still think the day after the wedding was full of regret for both of them.
