Meghan Markle reportedly upset royal insiders with her anniversary wedding photos that largely left senior royals out. The Duchess of Sussex marked eight years with Prince Harry by posting private images from their Windsor wedding. A new source claimed the posts felt carefully curated and read like a dig at the royal family. The claim centered on who appeared, who did not, and how the 2018 ceremony was reframed publicly online.

Meghan Markle’s wedding photos felt ‘edited and curated’ to royals, per source

According to RadarOnline, insiders questioned Meghan Markle’s Instagram anniversary posts. The outlet said she shared unseen images from St. George’s Chapel and Frogmore House. One royal source said the posts looked “carefully edited and curated.” The insider noted “a noticeable absence of senior royals” from the wedding photos. The source said observers believed she was “deliberately reframing the memory” in favor of her loyalists. The report said the posts were posted on the Sussexes’ eighth wedding anniversary.

The report said King Charles appeared only briefly, walking her down the aisle in one image. However, senior royals were largely absent from the wider collection, the source claimed. The insider said the post seemed “far more loaded than a simple anniversary tribute.” It centered on “celebrity guests, close confidantes, intimate moments with Harry,” and Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland. The source said some palace insiders viewed that as “a symbolic statement,” noting the couple’s marriage at Windsor in 2018 and who the couple is having “emotional allegiance” to at this moment.

RadarOnline said the 2018 wedding was watched by an estimated 1.9 billion people worldwide. Guests included Oprah Winfrey, David Beckham, and George Clooney. Still, the source claimed the royal family saw the anniversary images as pointed. The insider said the message was “unmistakable” inside the royal household. They added, “It comes across as a massive dig at them, really.” The Sussexes left senior royal duties in 2020. Since then, their relationship with the monarchy has stayed strained.
