Let’s start with the most formal of all wedding attire: black tie. Elevated and elegant is the name of the game here and it’s an excuse to go all out, à la Laura Harrier in this gorgeous golden Staud gown with an embellished neckline. Cocktail attire sits right in the middle of black tie and casual, so you’ll want to look festive but not too formal. Finally, there’s the destination or beach wedding, which tends to be a more casual affair. There’s a good chance you’ll be spending extended periods of time on the sand or grass, making wedges or flat sandals a must.
