Meghan Markle is being slammed for her visit to Geneva.
According to royal expert Tom Skyes, the Duchess of Sussex’s trip to Switzerland to help launch the Lost Screen Memorial was not the success she’d hoped for.
“What we saw this weekend in Geneva was a kind of a PR mess, right?” he questioned during an episode of “The Royalist” podcast. “It was a kind of a catastrophe, really.”
“It was very much structured to try and recover from the Australian catastrophe, which was a complete disaster. People did not like what they put across in Australia,” the commentator said.
Last month, Meghan and Prince Harry stoked tensions with The Firm by traveling to Australia for what looked like an unofficial tour. Despite the backlash, the pair reportedly saw it as a major win.
“What you’re always told by Team Sussex is: ‘Well, you had to be there. You had to be there. If you were there, you would have seen it was really different.’” Sykes remarked.
“Well, I was there, and it wasn’t different,” he claimed.

While in Geneva, Meghan gave a 10-minute speech held on the Place des Nations about the dangers of social media for children. Unfortunately, the mother of two seemingly failed to draw a large audience.
“It didn’t seem like a particularly starry crowd, let’s put it that way,” Sykes pointed out.
The reporter also claimed Meghan’s address “had almost no pickup in the global media, to be really honest. Virtually no international journalists had traveled there.”
Sykes also criticized the topic of the With Love, Meghan star’s speech as she shares her two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, on social media.
“Why then did it all feel so strange and weird and like we’d slightly stepped into a parallel universe?” he asked.
“I think the first thing that sprang to mind for me was that if this is what Megan wants to do, if she wants to go around giving speeches on important matters that people otherwise don’t give enough attention to, then it seems to me an odd decision to have left the British royal family,” Sykes said.
