Quinta Brunson Set to Play Betty Boop in New Movie | E! News

Quinta Brunson is stepping into a truly iconic new role. According to a May 20 Variety report, the Abbott Elementary creator is set to star as Betty Boop in a new feature film adaptation she’s also developing. The upcoming project will reportedly explore the origin and evolution of Betty Boop through the perspective of her creator, legendary animator Max Fleischer, while examining the pressures of creating one of the world’s first animated icons. Quinta’s production company, Fifth Chance Productions, is partnering with Mark Fleischer, the grandson of Betty Boop creator Max Fleischer, on the film. In a statement to Variety, Quinta described Betty as one of America’s most beloved cartoon characters with a “quiet but undeniable” cultural impact spanning nearly a century.
