30 Rock’s Grizz Chapman Dead at 52

Beloved cast member of 30 Rock, actor Grizz Chapman, died on May 22, 2026 at the age of 52. His rep confirmed to TMZ. The actor was best known for playing bodyguard Grizz on the hit sitcom. Shortly after the news broke, Chapman’s cousin, Harlem Globetrotter Donte “Hammer” Harrison, paid tribute to him on Instagram, while opening up about the actor’s long health battle. Sharing a throwback photo of the pair, Donte opened up about Grizz’s health journey and undergoing dialysis before peacefully passing away in his sleep. Before his death, Grizz was open about living with kidney disease and underwent a kidney transplant in 2010. Following the procedure, he became a spokesperson for the National Kidney Foundation. Grizz Chapman is survived by his wife and two children.
