please like me is one of my favorite shows and i also loved everything’s gonna be okay. after i saw this and thinking about the shows, the diagnosis makes so much sense. it shows so clearly in his characters.

Yeah it tracks so hard once you know, right? The way he writes those little spirals of overthinking and awkwardness felt *too* specific to just be “quirky TV,” it’s like watching someone’s brain in real time.
I kinda love that he’s basically been quietly making really tender autistic stories this whole time without stamping a label on it.

As a late diagnosed autistic person (and a fan of his work!), yessss.
Like, people are basically “sorry for your loss” when they hear about my diagnosis, and I’m like, are you kidding me? I finally understand why my whole life no one got or believed how much the world sucked for me. My diagnosis was a chance to start living as myself and gathering the tools to make a life I would actually want to live.
