It’s the American Music Awards tonight, which means one thing: For a few hours, Las Vegas is the center of the pop-culture universe. The fan-voted awards show airs live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena with performances, surprise appearances and enough celebrity combinations to make your group chat work overtime.

This year’s show has no shortage of star power. Queen Latifah hosts the 52nd AMAs, with performers including fresh-off-Coachella Karol G, Hootie & the Blowfish, Keith Urban, Katseye, Maluma, Teddy Swims, Teyana Taylor, Twenty One Pilots and more. The presenters are just as delightfully unpredictable — a mix of musicians (Hilary Duff and Ludacris), actors (Meg Stalter and Paul W. Downs), comedians (Nikki Glaser and Matt Rife) and a few people who will inevitably make everyone ask, “Wait, how do they know each other?”

Awards-wise, all eyes are on Taylor Swift, who leads with eight nominations, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for The Life of a Showgirl and Song of the Year for “The Fate of Ophelia.” She also enters the night as the most decorated artist in AMAs history, with 40 wins — though People reports that she won’t actually be in the building. Morgan Wallen, who trails closely in nominations and has famously never been much of an awards show guy, is a long shot.

Will there be surprise guests? Viral moments? Someone accidentally becoming a meme before the first commercial break? Almost certainly. The 52nd American Music Awards is on CBS and Paramount+. We’ll be here all night with updates, winners, performances, backstage moments and everything you missed.
