New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani has collected $9m (£6.6m) in unpaid fines from Amazon, which has been violating the city’s clean air laws by leaving engines running on its parked vehicles.

      It is absolutely absurd how small these fines are and how Amazon still didn’t want to pay them.

      And you can bet Amazon docked the pay of those drivers to cover the fines.

      I mean is it just me or… is 9m a ludicrously small amount in fines for a trillion dollar company? Of course, I’m glad that Mr. Mayor is collecting the fees for the city (which will surely be used for good), but I just feel the fines should be much more.
