Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is being investigated by police following allegations of inappropriate behaviour at Royal Ascot, according to reports. The former Duke of York, whose association with the late paedophile Jeffrey Epstein has seen him exiled from the royal fold, was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office in February.

Detectives investigating the King’s younger brother will also consider allegations of sexual misconduct in their inquiry, including an alleged incident at Royal Ascot in 2002, it has been suggested. While details of the allegation have not been disclosed, Andrew was photographed at the five-day event alongside his daughter Princess Beatrice and King Charles, with the late Queen Elizabeth II also in attendance, The Sunday Times reports.

The police inquiry into potential misconduct in public office can include a wide range of conduct, including sharing confidential financial information, financial misconduct, wilful neglect of duty and sexual misconduct. It also covers corruption and improper interference, conflict of interest, perverting the course of justice, dishonesty or fraudulent conduct and misconduct leading to personal gain.
