Linda Perry thinks Madonna shouldn’t be chasing trends and trying to compete with people like Charli xcx and says “Everything about her seems weak to me and not powerful”

Cher just turned 80…Madonna is an icon and I hope she keeps going ⭐️

Just another ageism take. Like as if it’s not okay for someone older to enjoy the trends. And as much as she was a leader for women in the industry and what they should be doing at pivotal moments and age ranges, she is showing younger women it IS okay to still love dancing (even if you’re not as good at it) and wearing loud, sexy things. We don’t shrivel up like our vagina lips after menopause and I hope Madonna continues to prove it.

      *whispers* I agree.

Madonna is an icon, but I don’t think competing with 20/30 year olds on the scene is the way to go. She’s already cemented her legacy so she should just release her music and slay like the icon she is.

But I will say I feel like a lot of previously big pop stars don’t know how to come back and be “older” in the industry. It’s like they’re lost at what music to make. Obviously not trying to compare her to someone like Madonna, lol but I like how Hilary duff has come back and is actually singing about her struggles as someone in their late 30s because I don’t think there’s a lot of music out there (at least music from big names) about that.

She’s not wrong about chasing trends but at the same time, Madonna can do upbeat dance music really well. Nobody wants a 100% acoustic ballad album from her. We want another Vogue or Hung Up.

Madonna at Carnagie Hall with lush string arrangements sounds amazing. In fact Madonna doesn’t even need to show up and it’ll sound even better

    6. What kind of trends is Madonna “chasing”? Dance music has always been her thing.

every time i see or hear about this lady, shes talking shit about someone. usually a woman. it’s exhausting

Remember when Madonna photoshopped her head on a random Australian woman for an Instagram post?

Wasn’t she the one calling Green Day cowards recently? Haters gonna hate.

“I don’t know why she’s turned me down”…proceeds to say she’s currently pathetic.

How could anyone not be attracted to working with that?

Madonna doesn’t have to compete. She can do whatever she wants. I wish she’d remember that.

At least Madonna didn’t create the abomination that is ‘What’s Up’

    13. Just released a new album? *Check!*

Time to start some shit for attention? *Also check!*

    14. I agree with sentiment that Madonna shouldn’t chase trends and try to compete with the young girls. However,

      1. The two singles we’ve gotten ahead of the release of Confessions II is the best music Madonna has put out in like almost 20 years.

      2. I don’t think you know Charli XCX well if you think anything Madonna is doing lately sounds like Charli XCX or or even looks like Charli.

      3. “Get back to when you were ahead of the pack and a leader” doesn’t mean that she needs to work with you. You haven’t written a big hit since 2011 and this is part of your press tour to promote your new album.
