“All due respect” = no respect.

      It’s such a great back-hander of a compliment-insult.

He’s saying the opposite, that someone else ghost directed it and Parsons is a director in name only. Which is, based on all evidence available, complete nonsense. Good on Duplass for defending Parsons and shutting this clown down.

How ridiculous to look at someone who is so meticulous he *digitally recreated an entire demolished mall* so faithfully that people who had been there regularly found it uncanny, and assume “yeah, I bet this guy wasn’t very involved or present as a director.” The guy who is known for scrupulous attention to detail. THAT guy.

That’s like looking at a young Jackie Chan and saying “well we all know he used stunt doubles for all the martial arts his character did in this movie.” Just kind of a bonkers assumption to make.

    4. Both him and Curry Barker have been getting insane, baseless accusations that their films were ghost directed. In both instances it feels like it is borne out of jealousy that they were able to make successful, wide release films at a young age. This is hardly the first time people in their twenties have directed films. Spielberg was literally 27 when he made Jaws for example and I don’t see anyone accusing him of not directing that

What a stupid take. Ah yes a24 is just lying about a 20 year old for publicity, because A24 really needs all that publicity

I hate that Elon’s blue check system makes it so that any random claim floats to the top of the timeline

I saw a good question posed to Kane that said a lot of new directors have asked for notes on their films- Paranormal Activity asked Spielberg who gave it a look over and Creggar asked Fincher to give notes on Weapons. He asked Kane if he had done the same, which he responded Sam Esmail gave some advice. Yeah, the kid didn’t make this on YouTube in his house and he’s collaborated and taken notes/mentorship. There’s nothing wrong with that.

I mentioned it before, but I did some vfx work for Backrooms and Kane was one of the best directors I’ve worked under. Good vision, clear notes, super grateful for our work. Really wishing him a lot of success.
