The Gist
Many celebrities had wedding dresses so nice, they had to wear them twice.
Kelly Ripa gets plenty of mileage out of her lacey gown from her 1996 elopement to Mark Consuelos, using it as a beach cover-up.
Queen Camilla and Keira Knightley have both worn their wedding dresses on at least three separate occasions.
A wedding dress tends to be the most expensive item of clothing you’ll ever buy, so why not get your money’s worth by rewearing it after your ‘I do’s’? Even A-listers who have endless designer gowns to choose from will occasionally don their beautiful bridal look. The result: a romantic red carpet moment that will forever remind them of their special day.
Red carpets aren’t the only place for a wedding dress rewear. Some stars, like Rebel Wilson and her wife, Ramona Agruma, brought their gowns out of storage for their first public date after their December 2024 nuptials. The recent brides wore their dreamy pink-hued and floral frocks to the 2025 Australian Open, according to People.
In other instances, a celebrity doesn’t rewear their original gown, instead opting for a recreation. That’s what ‘90s alt princess Gwen Stefani did in 2017, twirling in a strapless white and hot pink ombre gown that bore a strong resemblance to her dip-dyed gown from her 2002 wedding to ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. The original look was designed by John Galliano for Christian Dior, while the recreation came from Christian Siriano, the Observer reported.
Ahead, revisit more unforgettable moments when celebrities rewore their wedding dresses years after their ceremonies.

Pride & Prejudice star Keira Knightley said yes to the dress—five years before her marriage to musician James Righton. She first wore the effortlessly chic tulle minidress at a pre-BAFTA party in 2008. Photos from her 2013 wedding show Knightley in the same Chanel frock, this time paired with a white tweed jacket. Proving good things come in threes, the actress rewore her wedding dress again a few months after her nuptials, while attending a London gala in December 2013.

Another multi-time wedding dress re-wearer is none other than Queen Camilla (unsurprisingly, as the royal family is known for repeating outfits). Her Majesty wed King Charles, then Prince Charles, in a 2005 civil ceremony. Her minimalist Robinson Valentine silk chiffon dress appeared again in 2007, when Camilla rewore it at the National Assembly of Wales. She also brought it out of the closet to celebrate her and Charles’ 20th wedding anniversary in 2025, which the couple spent in the romantic city of Rome.

Talk show host Kelly Ripa never intended for her dream dress from her 1996 elopement to Mark Consuelos to be one-and-done. “I didn’t buy it as a wedding dress. I just bought it because it was really pretty,” she said in a 2016 episode of Live! with Kelly. “I said to myself, ‘I bet if I buy this, maybe it will be an investment piece. Maybe I will wear it more than once.'” The lacey spaghetti-strap number from Barneys New York is now her go-to “beach cover-up,” she told People in 2025. She also rewore it on her 20th anniversary trip with Consuelos.

Few weddings had the same impact on the culture as Victoria and David Beckham’s one-of-a-kind July 4, 1999 wedding. The intimate ceremony had Spice Girl guests, baby Brooklyn Beckham, and those iconic purple reception outfits. At the altar, however, the future fashion designer went with a classic champagne-hued Vera Wang ballgown. Nineteen years later, Victoria rewore the princess dress in a 2018 skit for British Vogue’s YouTube channel.

Oscar winner Emma Stone had a very secret wedding when she tied the knot with writer-director Dave McCary in 2020. The world finally got a glimpse of her Louis Vuitton reception dress in 2022, when she casually rewore the fringe-trimmed frock to that year’s Met Gala. “Emma Stone gives a second life to a white dress specially designed for her wedding after-party,” the Maison revealed on their Instagram.

Busy Philipps
Girls5eva alum Busy Philipps will go to extremes for a bit—including rewearing her 2007 wedding dress in a 2019 episode of her former talk show, Busy Tonight. The hostess confirmed that viewers were seeing her actual bridalwear in an Instagram post made after the episode aired, alongside a collage showing the two dresses side by side. “It basically fit except my stupid upper rib cage which grew after my 2 babies. No one tells you about that shit. But babies expand your rib cage so, just be aware. This is a PSA,” she joked in the caption.

Four years after she married Kevin Federline, pop star Britney Spears brought one of her two wedding looks out of retirement. Photos published by the outlet show that the The Woman in Me author accessorized with oversized sunglasses, strappy white heels, and a trench coat she put on inside the dealership.
