Where Is Underworld Franchise? – New Movies, Projects, It’s Fall And More!

If you are looking into the early 2000s movie roster, there is a high chance you have come across the Underworld Franchise. And if you look at the critical review, chances are you will see it described as sleazy and derivative. But then, if you look into the numbers, you will see that that one movie, which came out in 2003, gave us five films, an animated series, 95 million dollars grossed on a budget of 22 million, and a total of 539 million dollars worldwide when you c consider the whole franchise. Plus, it also gave us one of the most iconic heroines of her generation- Kate Beckinsale as Selene. Pretty good track record, right? But then. Somewhere down the line, between the fourth film and the fifth film, something broke.

    1. Probably died off cuz nobody knew what the fuck was happening in these movies. Easily the most convoluted franchise of all time.

    2. even thou I like Selene/Beckinsale, rise of the Lycans proved the franchise doesn't need to focus entirely on said character. an animated/live action series set in the early days focused around Victor, Marcus, Amelia and William is what I wanted. Amelia never had character development and William was never shown in his prime as to why he needed to be contained plus Bill Nighy's victor back on screen is always a treat.

    3. Vampires vs werewolves is what worked. It was all they needed. Nobody cared about any love story. The Selene girlpower was incidental, just like in Alien, it was great and was just part of a great story. When it betrayed the basic theme, it was over.

    4. Yo why is it that while I'm watching this review I did not know that came out with another movie called blood Wars they must not have advertised as much as they should have

    5. Here's why, and it's going to piss some of you off. The reason is that it was centered around a beautiful woman, who got too old, her looks started to fade, and men lost interest. It happens all the time. Just like it did to Charlize Theron and Jennifer Lopez.

    6. One of my favorite franchises, I just did an Underworld marathon a couple of weeks ago! It saddens me Kate Beckinsale is done with the franchise & with good reason, though I can’t see anyone stepping into her shoes. From that opening scene in the first movie, her jumping off that tower & landing like it was no big deal, I KNEW I was watching a different kind of vampire movie

    7. I thought Kate was married to the director Wiseman and that Kate's x-husband was in the first movie?

Watched the first 2 movies because of Beckinsale. Then she went to do Van Helsing.

    8. The first couple of movies were great. Not sure if I actually have seen all of them. Only remember that the last one I saw was a bit of a disappointment.

    9. I hated the Michael’s hybrid look, just a dark blue vampire. I wish they incorporated more of the lycan in his look. But if they redo it again and I will watch it, especially if they don’t cast Zendaya as the lead, bruuuuhhhh
