      i didn’t love this song on first listen but then it just kept getting better. i think relating to it also helps me connect with the song and love it more. i actually really didn’t like drop dead, found it to be such a let down from her previous eras lead singles in comparison but it has also grown on me. i love that the two tell such a clear story, can’t wait for the whole album!!!

      Adding too, she becomes very admitting to being selfish for wanting this person all to herself, which is why i love this song. Like, a medication works …. but only for so long, but a cure, it cures it 1000%. It's like seeing the end of a relationship as soon as it begins bc we ultimately want the short-term little medication of moments to keep and hold in our minds, but long-term, we know deep down its never really going to last bc theres a void internally. It's truly a song about "it's not you, it's me" wrapped in a little bow. I just hope the person she's talking abt received this song just as empathetically, bc in society, everyone hates on the "it's not you, its me" excuse, but this song truly validates those feelings bc u can tell she genuinely cared abt this partner. Love this reaction <3

      Oh yay!!! I saw another creator talking about The Cure (the band) and the reference to Just Like Heaven in Drop Dead. Hadn’t heard it since highschool so I ran over to listen to it after this song and she did so good!!! I could feel it even though they aren’t literally similar.
      The video is also amazing….makes me think 90s, The Faculty, and Coraline all at the same time which is perfect for the vibe
